Our Practice

Welcome and congratulations on taking the time to search for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

The Balance Mental Health Counseling (Balance MHC) practice was founded by Tanairy Fernandez, LMHC due to a high rate of mental illness. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) reported that in 2014 an estimated 43.6 million adults aged 18 or older in the United States with any mental illness (AMI) 1. As for youth ages 13 to 18, in 2010 it was reported that 46.3% had a lifetime prevalence of any mental disorder2. Balance MHC is compelled in an effort to help people strengthen their mental health.

Balance MHC is a space of change, of calmness, and goal oriented. We strive to increase our clients’ level of personal understanding through their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In therapy clients are provided a relaxed environment to promote self-expression and awareness. In addition to counseling individuals, we also provide counseling to couples and families. Let us guide you or a loved one towards a positive change.

Tanairy Fernandez

MS.Ed, LMHC, NCC

Tanairy Fernandez is a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Long Island, New York specializing in counseling adolescents and young adults. Tanairy has extensive experience counseling clients with Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, Behavioral issues, and Adjustment to life changes. She has a clinical background in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) with a focus on Mindfulness.

Gisela Rivera

Graduate Counseling Intern

Gisela Rivera is a bilingual graduate Mental Health Counseling Intern currently pursing her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Molloy College. Besides her studies in Mental Health Counseling she works with young adults at a local community college. In addition to working with college students Mrs. Rivera has professional experience with adolescents and young adults. She finds herself in the positive journey of developing her counselor identity, but notices a strong interest in the humanistic perspective.

Dr. Tyce Nadrich

LMHC, NCC

Dr. Tyce Nadrich is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (NY), Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). He primarily works with adolescents and young adults of color. He specializes in working with persons through identity development issues, emotional disturbances, and life transitions. His practice includes a person-centered approached, utilizing Narrative and Cognitive-Behavioral therapeutic techniques. He’s also a full-time professor at Molloy College’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in Rockville Centre.
